Meet the Teacher

 

​    Hello, my name is Kate Duffy. I have the great pleasure of working here at Charles Barrows STEM Academy as the Visual Arts teacher. I have been an Art educator since 2000. I began my career as a long term substitute teacher in Detroit Michigan. I was fortunate enough to take over the same classroom that I subbed in and became a full time Art teacher. I spent 11 years in Detroit teaching art to grades 6-8. In 2012 my family moved from Michigan to Connecticut and I began working in the Windham School district as an Art teacher. In addition to my BFA in Art education, I also have a Masters in Special Education and continuing credits that focus on working with special populations.
